The mark I leave

I wrote this short poem reflecting on World Earth day and the theme of our power, our planet. An Easter pilgrimage gave me the time to reflect; to connect with the earth and ask myself the question - What kind of mark do I want to leave?. I know that I have a way to go on my journey, but I aim to be gentle and good...
I do not walk to conquer ground, but to honour it.
Each step, a whisper - not a shout.
Each breath, a promise - not a claim.
I carry with me no banner, only hope.
I aim to leave no scar, only softness.
Let my mark be kindness, let my shadow be peace.
Let my trail be light enough for the earth to still sing.
